Jewel and husband Ty Murray have shared the first pics of their new baby boy, Kase Townes, with People.com. Born on July 11 via emergency c-section, Kase was a week overdue when the doctors discovered the Kase’s heartbeat was dropping.
Jewel said, “I feel lucky to be pregnant in the modern age where they could actually tell he wasn’t well during those contractions. We felt thankful that we had good doctors and a good hospital nearby, and that everything was okay. I’m so lucky that we have a healthy baby boy. That’s all I cared about.”
As a ‘friend’ of Storme Warren on Facebook, I get to see what he’s up to on a daily basis. Whether he’s enjoying time with his kids or interviewing a country superstar, he usually posts pictures or a status update that lets people know what’s going on.
Well, today he posted a picture of Tim McGraw in New York City. Tim is in town to play a special show today at the Beacon Theatre that will air live on three SiriusXM channels: Tim McGraw Radio, The Highway and Prime Country.
He’ll be performing songs off his yet-to-be released album Emotional Traffic. Tim’s relationship with Curb Records has become tumultous of late because the label has been sitting on this album since last fall. Although he’s been at odds with Curb for years, Tim is moving forward with his Emotional Traffic Tour this summer with hopes the label will finally release the album.
For the second year in a row, Dierks Bentley is featured in Esquire magazine’s annual music issue. He wrote a special column titled “How To Write A Song (For A Woman).” He also gave songwriting tips:
“Avoid the generic. The only reason Justin Bieber can get away with a whole chorus that uses only the words baby and ooh is because he’s Justin Bieber. Specificity and originality beats cliché every time. Unless you’ve got Dr. Luke building you a monster track, you aren’t going to be able to hide crappy lyrics behind the music. And if you screw up, it’s no big deal. When I forget the words during a show, I rewrite them on the spot. No one ever seems to mind. She won’t either. (Some emergency rhymes: Crazy/baby, girl/world, apart/heart, desire/fire.) The key to screwing up a song is to laugh it off and press on. No matter what happens, good things are waiting for you after that last note.”
