Lady Antebellum performed on the season final of Dancing With The Stars last night. They sounded great and it was really cool to see dances choreographed to their music. They sang “Need You Now” and “Dancing Away With My Heart.” Check out one of their performances below.
Faith will be among the guests performing at this year’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” in New York City. Also performing are Justin Bieber, Michael Bublé, Carole King, Tony Bennett, Cee Lo Green, Katharine McPhee and Javier Colon.
Fresh off her CMA performance, Faith will be getting into the holiday spirit and will most likely be singing a track off her popular holiday album Joy To The World, released in 2008. Fans were excited to see her back at the CMA’s after a five year hiatus. Her new song “Come Home” can be purchased on iTunes and her new album will hit shelves in early 2012.
Tune into NBC on November 30 to see all the performances along with the 74-foot-tall, 10-ton Norway Spruce light-up with over 30,000 LED lights.
The first round of nominations for the 2012 People’s Choice Awards have been announced, and country music is making quite a showing. The 38th Annual People’s Choice Awards will air live on CBS on January 11, 2012.

The Band Perry stopped by Dancing With The Stars last night to perform “If I Die Young.” As always they sounded flawless. The song has really put the trio on the map and I am really looking forward to see how they do at the CMA Awards. They are nominated for five awards and are scheduled to perform. I would love to hear them live.
And to even top the DTWS performance, the band has recorded a song with Justin Bieber for his upcoming Christmas album. The track is called “Home This Christmas” and the album is called Under the Mistletoe. The album goes on sale November 1 with profits going to several charities.
If you’re a Keith Urban fan, like me, you will love this new commercial for his new cologne called Phoenix. It’s pretty funny…he did get a little help from Ellen DeGeneres, so it HAS to be good, right?
So if you like Faith Hill, like me, you will definitely appreciate this bit of news. The Country Music Association announced today that Faith will be performing at this year’s CMA Awards next month and that she will be releasing a brand new album early next year. That’s right, and she’ll be singing a NEW song!
Faith hasn’t performed at the awards show since 2006 and hasn’t released a studio album since 2005’s Fireflies…so to hear that she’s finally put together a new album is great to hear. And this all was announced on Faith and Tim McGraw’s 15th wedding anniversary…turns out to be a super special day.
Other announced performers are all five Entertainer of the Year nominees: Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban plus Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert and the Band Perry.
Brad, the reigning Entertainer of the Year, will host the awards with Carrie Underwood on November 9 on ABC.
Julianne Hough began her career as a dancer on the hit show Dancing With The Stars. After competing for five seasons and winning twice, she made a career move to country music and acting. There’s good news for fans of Julianne and the show…she’ll be back on this coming’s results show. Most likely her visit is in promotion for her new movie Footloose which is out in theaters next Friday. She’ll be performing to the movie’s theme song along with other cast members.
The movie’s soundtrack is heavy with country music. Blake Shelton covered the film’s theme song but there hasn’t been anything reported about whether or not he’ll be on DWTS to perform the tune. Below is the complete track listing:
1. Footloose – Blake Shelton
2. Where The River Goes – Zac Brown of Zac Brown Band
3. Little Lovin’ – Lissie
4. Holding Out For A Hero – Ella Mae Bowen
5. Let’s Hear It For The Boy – Jana Kramer
6. So Sorry Mama – Whitney Duncan
7. Fake I.D. – Big & Rich feat. Gretchen Wilson
8. Almost Paradise – Victoria Justice & Hunter Hayes
9. Walkin’ Blues – Cee Lo Green feat. Kenny Wayne Shepherd
10. Window Paine – The Smashing Pumpkins
11. Suicide Eyes – A Thousand Horses
12. Dance The Night Away – David Banner
The soundtrack actually look promising…not so sure how I feel about the remake of the classic movie, but I’ll let you know.
This fall is great, especially if you’re a Lady Antebellum fan. Why you might ask…because they are literally everywhere promoting Own The Night.
This Saturday they are performing on Saturday Night Live. I am super excited…it will be the first time I’ll see them performing songs from the new album. I just bought my tickets today for the show in December in Scranton, so I’m ready to hear anything Lady A.
Also, Melissa McCarthy will be hosting SNL. If you haven’t seen Bridesmaids you are missing out. It’s a pretty hilarious movie and Melissa will not let you down in the laughing department. Plus, catch her television show Mike & Molly on CBS, also really funny.
Ok, click on the link to see the SNL promo for the episode Saturday!
Lady Antebellum was on Late Show with David Letterman the other night with a great performance of “Just A Kiss.” I could listen to them 24/7. Their new album Own The Night is out September 13!
The CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock was Sunday, but was overshadowed by the unfortunate events that occurred at the Indiana State Fair before Sugarland was set to take the stage.
Five people died and many were injured when strong winds collapsed the stage onto fans located in the front rows. Fans and medical crews worked to free people trapped under the heavy rigging. Soon after fans were posting cell phone videos and pictures online and news quickly spread. Fans and other celebrities took to Twitter to give well-wishes and note their concerns. All Sunday events at the fair were canceled, but the fair reopened Monday morning with a memorial service honoring those who were killed.
Sugarland and opening act Sara Bareilles scrapped their tour stop at the Iowa State Fair this past Sunday and are scheduled to perform in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Thursday. Also, Lady Antebellum canceled their concert stop Friday at the Indiana State Fair.
Jennifer Nettes posted this on the Sugarland website:
“I am so moved. Moved by the grief of those families who lost loved ones. Moved by the pain of those who were injured and the fear of their families. Moved by the great heroism as I watched so many brave Indianapolis fans actually run toward the stage to try and help lift and rescue those injured. Moved by the quickness and organization of the emergency workers who set up the triage and tended to the injured.”
On a much lighter note…there was a Sugarland performance included on the CMA Music Fest special. Check it out below:
